Ausencias de "The lovely bones" e "Invictus" en mejor película, aunque Clint Eastwood consigue la nominación a mejor director.

Dobletes de Meryl Streep, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Jason Reitman y Quentin Tarantino, mientras "Los abrazos rotos" ha sido nominada a mejor película de habla no inglesa junto a la cinta chilena "La Nana".
